The Solar Weapon, referred to as a "Singer" by Remontoire, was a massive Inhibitor superstructure capable of causing precision coronal mass ejections. One of fifteen techniques for stellar destruction known to the Inhibitors, it worked by directing focused gravitational waves toward the star, deforming part of its surface until the core was exposed. This unleashed what was described by human witnesses as a "solar flamethrower". When targeted at a planet in the same system, the Singer would destroy all life on it without exception.
During the only known use of this weapon against a human-controlled planet, Resurgam, the massive superstructure of the Singer required the Inhibitors to shatter and re-purpose the raw material of an entire gas giant, Roc.
