Pell was an experienced and trusted ship pilot in employ by the Panoply.
Along with a team of fellow Demarchist and Panoply pilots, he was commonly in command of deep-system cruisers (such as the Democratic Circus), loaned to the Panoply for police actions deeper into the Epsilon Eridani system or at the more remote parts of the Glitter Band.
