Lorean Sylveste was a native of Yellowstone and a member of the planet's Demarchist upper crust. He was the father of Calvin Sylveste and grandfather of Dan Sylveste.
On Yellowstone, he had something of a reputation of a Demarchist folk hero (at least according to Dan Sylveste). The Yellowstone city of Loreanville, smaller than Chasm City and Ferrisville, was named in Lorean Sylveste's honour.
Similarly, the Demarchist-owned lighthugger Lorean, used for Dan Sylveste's long-term research expedition to the planet Resurgam, also bore his name.
