Free-force bubbles were a defensive technology utilized on lighthuggers. Developed with information gleaned from Aura, who as an infant was infused with advanced technical knowledge by Hades, the technology was at least partially effective against the Inhibitors.

- The technology's name seems to draw a parallel between this technology and the grub's force-projection armouring skein. However, no such connection is ever described, and thus it is unknown if they share the same original creators, or if they even operate under the same principles.
