A Prefect Dreyfus Emergency

A Prefect Dreyfus Emergency is a spinoff series of novels in the Revelation Space universe. The novels are of a police procedural and detective nature and focus on prefect Tom Dreyfus and his fellow officers in the Panoply, Yellowstone's specialised police force for the Glitter Band orbital settlements.

Chronologically, these spinoff novels are set in the pre-Melding Plague era of Yellowstone (the Belle Epoque), when Chasm City is not yet disfigured and the Glitter Band has not yet turned into the Rust Belt.

The series is also promoted by some publishers as the Inspector Dreyfus series.
