Ararat was a Pattern Juggler world in the p Eridani system colonised by the crew of the Nostalgia for Infinity in 2651. Its main settlement was First Camp. In 2675, after the world's human population was located by the Inhibitors, the Infinity fled with only a fraction of its original crew. The remainder were presumed killed from the bombardment of shards of the planet's shattered moon, which had been destroyed by the Inhibitors after they redirected a cache weapon blast. The planet was generally a tropical world, with the planet's surface being littered with vast seas and archipelagos of small islands (the First Camp being built on one of the few larger islands of the planet).
In 3125 the planet, re-colonised sometime before, was visited by Aura and Scorpio. At that time it was being evacuated, as the entire system was being threatened by the greenfly.
