Airships, often of the non-rigid blimp type, were lighter-than-air aerial vehicles used on some of the planetary colonies of the Revelation Space universe. They were sometimes referred to by the synonym dirigibles.
They served mostly civilian purposes, such as transportation or research, but some of them also saw military applications.
Some of the interstellar colonies where airships were in use included Turquoise and Sky's Edge.
